2020 in review

January - TJ turned 6!  I ripped out my fingernail.  We got a zoo pass, Ash got his darling little gap teeth.  I started home-schooling TJ and teaching him piano.

February - I cut my hair off (again).  Threw a really fun galantines party and felt so fancy!  Started a Joy School group for Eli, which Eli loved immensely.  We all met Tyler for lunch at the water gardens downtown (this is a big deal because it was waaay back when Tyler still worked in an office!).  We bought a state parks pass and planned a camping trip for May.

March - Went and saw tulips in Dallas with friends.  The kids and I left Tyler behind and took a spring break trip to St. George!  While we were there, Tyler tore out the weird deck in our back yard.  Then Covid exploded and I remember feeling really nervous about what was going to happen next.  But we made it home okay.  Tyler started working from home full-time, "temporarily."

April - We accidentally celebrated Easter a week early and I'll never live it down.  We cut down two trees in our front yard that were too close to the house.
May - I turned 27 and had a great birthday with all my little kiddos.  Killed all the "grass" in the backyard.  Finished up homeschool (whew!) and went to the zoo a few times.

June - We ripped up the dead yard and tilled it, put down new topsoil, and seeded fresh grass. It was so much work!  The boys caught all kinds of bugs and critters.  We started visiting parks every Sunday and it was heavenly but hot.  I was getting pretty covid stir crazy so I took the kids to Albuquerque to see my family by myself.  My dad came back with me and built our porch with Tyler over a long weekend.  Asher turned 1 and Eli turned 5!

July - We headed back to Albuquerque (with Tyler this time) for a sweet 4th of July bash.  We found out while we were there that my sister-in-law was pregnant, and by that time I was pretty sure I was too.  We waited until after the trip to take a test and make sure though!  Went to the zoo a whole bunch.

August - Eli started his speech class at TCU.  The lawn filled in beautifully and TJ continued to catch a stream of reptiles and amphibians around the house.

September - Tyler and I took a weekend getaway to Arkansas while my parents watched the kids.  TJ started 1st grade in the dual-language program at a new school.  TJ also started soccer, with Tyler coaching.  Eli finished learning the alphabet in "mom school" so we had a party for Eli, the Alphabet King.
October - Tyler finally got the ceiling and lighting installed on the back porch.  We recorded the boys saying parts and singing for a virtual primary program!  We voted.  I had a kids Halloween party at my house that was complete craziness and a total blast.  We attended many soccer games.  Tyler made Eli an awesome Minecraft creeper costume for Halloween.

November - Soccer finished up.  We went to Albuquerque for Thanksgiving (think we made enough trips this year?).

December - We had a really sweet Christmas season at home.  We had a shepherds meal with the missionaries on Christmas eve, gave the boys dirtbikes for Christmas, and went to a New Years Eve party at a friends house.
