We had a lovely weekend up in Kelly Canyon.
Friday night we drove up and met our friends, Jared and Katelyn (who are getting married in August!). They brought a few other friends too, so there were 7 of us.
We got there first, so we spent a little time picking flowers, puttering around on the motorcycle, and building up a fire.
Here's my lovely forest bouquet!
Our good camera is out of battery (and requires a special charger that is currently up in Spokane) so the pictures are awful. Actually, I probably just need to accept the fact that I am not a talented photographer.
Moving on.
Tyler looking oh-so-attractive and his cozy little fire.
Tyler's Kawasaki KLX-400. It's a four-stroke, and after much tutoring this weekend, I've learned that means it has more power in the lower gears, versus a two-stroke, which goes faster with higher RPM's.
First time setting up our cute little tent! We bought it with wedding money.
Between the three guys that came up, we had 4 dirt bikes and 2 ATV's.
I got to practice on a little 2-stroke Kawasaki KX-125 (a smaller engine) which was awesome. I'm getting all ready for the Smith lake trip this summer! Didn't get any pictures of me on the bike, which is way too bad because I looked so cool. The one I drove is the green one leaning against the tree. Tyler's is the one with a kick-stand.
Left to right: Katelyn, Jared, Tawney
One of the guys brought up a few of his guns, so everyone took a few turns shooting.
Fun as it was, it was also great to come back an take a shower! Dunking into an ice-cold river isn't cleansing it all.
Whenever the Smith's go camping, riding is a must. I can't tell you how many pictures Tyler has of him and his family all lined up, decked out in all their gear with their bikes.
Tyler's the one in green (he was around 16 here).
Here's to hobbies.
Good luck this week!

How fun! I despise camping. You're a good wife. Although it would be a lot more fun with ATVs!
super fun! in all honesty i can't decide if i like camping. camping definitely has a special place in my heart but i don't know if i would categorize it has "fun".
oh and i realize you've asked me a couple of times where we are getting married...i'm just bad at responding via "comments". the church is the Broomfield United Methodist Church, and our reception is at the Chateaux at Fox Meadows in Broomfield (google it, it's beautiful). 4 months to go!!!
I super love camping, probably just because I was blessed with awesome camping experiences with my church group when I was younger. Granted, I'm NOT loving the huge swollen mosquito bites that are making me want to die of itchiness!
Oh Summer. You're life is so cute. Love it!
