When is it EVER a good idea to post pictures of yourself drinking?
Even if you're at a frat party,
and everyone else has a drink in hand,
do they not realize that future employers
can look at their idiot college days?
Um...the craziest party I remember going to
was a sunday game-night at my first apartment,
and we played truth or dare.
Someone stuck his head in the toilette to blow bubbles.
Crazy, man!
But seriously, it was gross.
We banned T or D after that...
because it got too crazy.
I've never tasted alcohol (or coffee, for that matter)
in my entire life.
That won't ever change, even after I turn 21.
Originally,
I sat down and wrote a really long post
about my personally beliefs
and smart decisions in early adulthood
and the BYU-Idaho school policy.
But,
what I really want to say is,
my heart hurts for them.
And I hope that they don't do anything they regret.
I'm so very happy and blessed in my life, I hope that they are too.
And I shouldn't judge.
What are your thoughts on the college scene these days?

well it's been 10+ years since i went to college and who knows how that "scene" has changed.
now i understand (maybe a little bit assume {and that's bad on my part}) that you're most likely very conservative. i myself am liberal. and i think life has to do with experiences. do life experiences HAVE to have alcohol in them?, absolutely not. but that's what i think about when i think of college and college days. that time is about growth, trying new things, learning about what you want as you mature into a true adult. for some (most) college kids does that include alcohol?, yes. and unfortunately i do think it is true that most kids drink to be seen as "cool" and i'm sure lots of kids learn from their "cool" days.
not too sure if that even answered your question and i'm sure emily will give a much more poetic answer that'll actually make sense, but those are my thoughts.
I had the best time ever in college. I literally think they were the happiest and most fun days of my entire life. And it did not involve alcohol. Not ever. I think if people of a legal age want to drink, that is their prerogative. But when people get wasted, they act like idiots. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just saying what I have witnessed. I would much rather have fun without having to lose control of my faculties, or suffer from a hangover the next day. Just my opinion. I have tasted alcohol, and it tastes terrible, too. :)
Thanks April. I appreciate another viewpoint!
