Oh Baby!

When we first found out about the kiddo, I started making journal entries for pregnancy 'milestones.'  Here are a few notes I made - it's alot of complaining about symptoms, so feel free to skip this one.

April 30, 2013:  Got the news today.  We are so excited!

May 5:  Holy COW.  I am SO HUNGRY and SO THIRSTY.  All the time!
I think Tyler was thrilled to help hold the pee-stick.

May 12:  First real mothers day!  6 weeks today.  I haven't been too sick up until now, but morning sickness has struck with a vengeance this weekend.

May 14:  Chocolate and pizza make me sick.  Did you know pizza is my favorite food? We got pizza tonight, and I could tell after the first bite it wasn't going to stay down.  So I shoved down as many pieces as possible.  Then I ran to the bathroom.

May 19: Morning. Sickness. I feel like I'm dying. I've gotten it down to a science - I need to throw up when I wake up, then again at 10 and noon.  If I don't eat by 3 or 4 I'll be sick at night.

June 7: First ultrasound today.  It was amazing to see our teeny tiny baby!  Her/his heartbeat is so strong and so fast!  I loved seeing the little arms wave.  I think my saddest thing about this visit was filling out the paperwork.  Because my moms family has alot of medical disorders, our baby is a prime candidate for genetic screening. We were asked if we wanted screening, and if the baby came back positive for mental impairment, if we wanted abortion counseling.  I answered no to both questions.  Our baby is the way it is and I wouldn't destroy it for anything.
When they showed me the screen, I couldn't figure out what was what.  Heres a little guide.

June 18: I almost fit my maternity pants.  Halleluja, because regular jeans stopped fitting about six weeks ago.  Hello, muffin top.

July 2: The little one must doing stretches this morning!  I've never felt the kiddo move so much.  (We're at about 13 weeks, but this isn't my first time feeling the gummy bear move.)

July 5: Heard the little heartbeat again today, and scheduled our next ultrasound to find out the gender!

July 14:  Today was our big "facebook announcement."  We had a goal from the beginning to wait until 15 weeks to really make our wonderful news public. There's something kindof terrifying about telling the world about the kiddo.  These days, sleep is my plague.  I can't get comfortable, and even when I do, I wake up every few hours to pee (yaaay) or shift positions or just be awake.  I wake up sore and exhausted every day! I think I need to invest in more pillows.

That was such a fun pregnancy post to read! Although, I am so sorry you have morning sickness; that sucks. I've had pizza twice and each time it's made me sick so I can't eat it anymore either. Don't worry pregnancy is not a permanent state! Anyways, I am so excited for you guys :)

Ya, I keep reading that sleep deprivation gets worse as you progress, which is why I'm so sad that I'm already having problems. My sister in law was like "Hey, at least when you have the baby, you can sleep at night. Not very much, but it beats trying to sleep when pregnant!"
Thanks everyone! I am so excited!

Loved your announcement! Super cute!
Great idea to keep a little journal, I'm sure there are times you'll eventually want to look back on.
Cheers to Mommyhood/Parenthood!
