coming home

We hurried in the the NICU this morning to see the neonatal doctor who would be evaluating T.J.  Hopefully, he would tell us that we were all set to discharge thursday morning.

After doing the eval, the doctor looked at the pediatrician and said "He seems fine.  I'm okay with discharging him today if you are."

They sent us home with our baby a day early.
I can't believe how blessed we are!  The car ride home was so surreal.
He slept in his carseat, so when we got home I put him right in his crib.  He settled in by peeing everywhere, so we had to change him and the crib bedding.
One down.
Now, my sweet baby boy is sleeping in my home, in his crib, while I sit on the couch and watch through his bedroom door.
This day is amazing.

That is so amazing! I'm so happy for you! He is so precious. Did anyone tell you about doubling up on the crib sheet with a waterproof mattress pad inbetween? Makes changing sheets so much easier. I think it was your mom that taught me that so I'm guessing she told you too.

Yep we finally added some padding to the crib. We had some adventures with projectile poop AND spit-up today. Fortunately it's still cute and funny.

April, during the last few months I cried whenever I saw newborn pics! Those hormones are the worst.

Sometime this summer we'll make a trip down to Utah. I can't imagine traveling with a baby but other people do it so it must be possible, right?
