pumpkin patch love

There is a little pumpkin patch nearby that we love.  We went once last year at the end of October and I wished we had gone more often.  It was super cheap to get in and the kids were free and it was just a ton of fun.  This year I've decided not to miss out and we've already gone twice!  I took the boys one morning by myself.  It was a total blast, and perfect until buses full of school kids rode up.  Then it got so crazy.

Both the boys love the giant bed of corn.  It's so theraputic to play in.  If only Eli didn't try to eat it all...

Eli also loved the animals.  He petted all of them!  TJ was more wary.  He petted the kangaroo, then decided to try to pet the geese (oh, TJ) and got bitten.  Those birds are just in an awful mood, molting and stressed and NOT PETTING ZOO MATERIAL.
Eli laid face down and would stick his face in the corn and lick it.  It was greeeaaaat.
TJ's favorite thing was the hay rides.  We did it twice!  He was so excited about riding the tractor (even though we were riding behind the tractor... but whatever).
On Friday, we went back with Tyler to do the corn maize and pick some pumpkins.
The first order of business was to play in the corn.  Obviously.
Since Tyler was there to help this time, both the boys got to do the slides.  Once TJ went down, he wanted to go over and over!  Eli loved it too.

Next was a hay ride.
Finally we got to do the mazes.  We primed TJ with the two kid-friendly hay maizes.  He was crazy about it.

We did the corn maize, and let TJ pick where to go.  During the maize, Eli picked up some corn to munch on.  It was grain corn so I can't imagine it tasted that good but he got a few bites in before I confiscated it.
I don't know if it was luck or what, but he found the way out in under five minutes.  I was super impressed and he was running and cheering when we got to the exit!  It was so cute.
I'm hoping to go a few more times before the end of the season.  It is still so warm here, we want to be outside as much as possible!
