After a few days living the high life in Spokane, we hopped on a plane and took some ridiculous long flights down to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Our first day, we decided to drive down the Florida keys all the way to key west in our rental car.
It was like 2.5 hours driving across little tiny islands and big long bridges across the ocean.
The views were great.
All I wanted to do was sit on a beach.
So we drove around and found a beach.
It was great.
And I seriously love this picture. Don't ask me why,
but if I could only have one picture from this whole trip,
it would be this one.
Here's the little beach.
We tried to pick an empty one...all the other ones were full of those crazy college kids on spring break.
Pft.
Kids.
Lunch stop at the aptly named 'Panini Panini.'
And drove home.
The next day we were heading out on a cruise!
So we turned in the rental car,
and they told us to wait for a shuttle to the port.
Which we did.
And waited.
Finally the shuttle showed up and we headed to the port.
We turned in our baggage and got in line to check in.
After much waiting,
we found out we were at the wrong port.
Not the wrong boat,
the wrong port.
You're probably thinking, "You guys are SO silly! What a dumb mistake to make."
Well,
you're kindof right.
Our ship was 45 minutes away.
So we hopped in a cab and paid a small fortune to get to the right port.
And got on the ship and sailed to the Bahamas!
We sailed overnight, and got off around noon.
So we went and chilled on the beach.
Went for a walk to find some local place for lunch.
Wierd fact:
Apparently, bahamians don't do boneless chicken.
Everywhere we ate, even the americanized places,
served chicken with bones.
So here's our gorgeous island sunset
Day 2 in the Bahamas was spent being lazy.
There was alot we could have done,
but we were all newly-married and just wanted to be together.
In the evening we took a long walk up the beach.
Found lots of treasures,
including a huge piece of coral that is currently decorating our living room.
Then stopped here for dinner.
All up and down the beaches are stands like this,
most of them selling trinkets or hair braiding.
Food looked interesting.
It was.
We had lobster and vegetable lime soup on the grill.
I don't really know how else to explain it.
It was a fun few days,
then we hopped back on the ship.
Here's the ship-view of the port
On the other side there was a pirate ship.
Like the black pearl
Except with green sails!
Well, not really like the black pearl.
But I thought it was cool.
darn. should've fixed that sideways picture.
I wouldn't change anything about the whole thing.
It was so much fun and he did a great job planning it!

Okay we're almost done with wedding adventures.
Okay we're almost done with wedding adventures.
All that's left is the Albuquerque reception,
which was featured on my Aunt's blog last week.
Happy weekend!

I would have done nothing--NOTHING--except lay on the beach with a book. That looks like a heavenly trip!
so i guess i'm confused. what exactly did you do? flew to FL, saw the FL keys. But i don't get the cruise part. All cruises I've been on only let you off the boat for a few hours. But I'm getting the impression that when you got off of the boat you were off for a few DAYS?! then back on the boat to another port.
Regardless, for me a cruise is a perfect vacation. a little bit of everything!
Sounds like you had a great time.
Ya we stayed in the bahama's for a few days then got back on the boat and went back to florida. So its not so much of a cruise as a long boat trip to drop you off.
hooray for blogging and pictures! miss you!
