no sympathy

So
Tyler and I were i-Team leaders before the semester started.
I-Team is basically a group of freshman/transfer students who are new to the campus.
There were 105 groups, and each group has a bout 40 kids.
Sheesh!
That's ALOT of people.
The classes are all full...I think it's time for BYU-I to start expanding!

Anyway.
We met our i-group for devotional (where the whole campus meets and we listen to a speaker) yesterday,
which was excellent.
I slept through the second half.

It's weird, whenever I sit down, my body goes,
"TAKE A NAP!" even though I'm not tired and I get 7-8 hours of sleep a night.
(I go to bed by 10!  I'm so proud of myself.)

Back to the story.
Before the program started I was asking everyone how their first week was going.

{
For the record,
my first semester was by far the easiest.
I think that's how college works.
They trick you in to thinking it's easy, then they spring all the impossible stuff on you.
}

Most of them said "Good!" in some form or another.
One girl said "Terrible!"
"Awwww.  Whats your major?"  says I.
"Musical performance."

My first thought was, "Woman, you can't even complain!!!!!   I have been doing homework every waking moment since my first class!"
(which isn't quite true...I take time for a short run in the morning, a  shower, and a few meals here and there)

I'm so cruel.

The truth is, there is alot of competition in music majors,
so I can see why she was having a hard time.

I guess our weeks are going terrible in different ways.

Actually, I'm having a great time, I'm just really busy.
Unlike last semester, I am fairly confident that I can handle my classes.
They're a challenge,
but I can figure them out.
I have a good foundation in calculus, programming, and logic by this point,
now it's just a matter of applying what I know.

Thanks for 'listening!'
Tyler's dad is coming to visit next week and bringing some dirt bikes,
so maybe I'll have some FUN stories for you then.

In the meantime,
what was your hardest class in college?

i gotta say i love how random this blog is, but i don't really think you intended it to be random at all...which make is even better.

to answer your question: my hardest class was probably ASL: American Sign Language. I've had an obsession with sign language since my sophomore year of HS, so decided to take a class in college. needless to say, i'm just not good and learning another language...Spanish/ASL I just can't pick it up. maybe i don't try long enough and just give up, who knows. but i find learning another language just about impossible. that and math. (and now, of course my future grandma in law is deaf along with majority of her side of the family) thankfully i do still know some ASL so i can communicate with her.

my easiest college course was American History. i had the best professor ever.

Political Science 200. The class that deters most people from majoring in polisci. It was brutal. But not necessarily hard, just completely time consuming so that I had no time for anything else. Not hard like chemistry or calculus.

ASL seems like alot of fun, but I would never take a college class! Tyler is minoring in Spanish and Chinese, so he's always in a language class.

Busy-work classes are so frustrating to me. I have one General Ed class right now, and the professor gives us loads of useless work from which I learn nothing.

and
I don't even know what Microbial genetics is.

Also, I slept through every single biology class my second semester of college. I just could not stay awake.
