This morning I had a set of braxton-hicks contractions that started coming at 2-minute intervals.
They barely hurt, so I was pretty confident there was nothing to worry about.
It stopped after like 10 minutes and hasn't happened again so I'm not calling my doctor or anything.
It was just weird.
Aren't you glad I tell you these things?
Later, Zap came to cuddle with the bump for a few minutes.
I think he and the kiddo are going to be great buddies.
They already take naps together.
And yes, I wear leggings around my house.
Don't worry, I recognize that they are not a suitable replacement for pants and should not be worn in public.
Question:
Did you have braxton-hicks? What were they like? Could you tell the difference between labor contractions and braxton-hicks?
The internet (and my all-male OB/GYN practice) has been very unhelpful with these questions, so if you've had a baby you should help a sister out.

Braxton hicks are really nothing like the real thing. You'll know the difference. Braxton hicks is just muscles tightening and they might even hurt a little but it's mostly belly pain. Real contractions are like very severe menstrual cramps. They hurt in your groin not belly. Helpful?
When you're in labor it feels like an elephant is stomping on your uterus and/or cervix. You'll know. Also, you can't breathe. Also, tears. Lots of tears.
oh my...your Aunts aren't helping, if those words were for me i would be scared!! ;)
and well i can't help either.
but i'm sure you will figure it out.
and what's up with the all MALE office for something that only FEMALES go through?! seriously.
Very helpful-thanks! I definitely haven't had any pain worse than normal cramping.
April-it helps that I'm planning an epidural. I just have to make it to the hospital!
PS I am offically scared, I just couldn't say it at the time! ;)
