first kiss

I have kissed 3 boys in my life.
1. First kiss guy
2. Guy who I dated right before Tyler
3. Tyler

Kisses on camera: always awkward.  Period.
When I was in high school, I made it a goal to only kiss one man - my future husband.  Obviously, that's not exactly what happened, because I got to college and kind of threw that out the window.  I knew that first-kiss guy was not husband material.

Here's the awkward story.
It was a few weeks after my 18th birthday.  It was a great time in my life, because I was no longer 17, so guys didn't feel weird about dating me because I was a minor.  After going on dates with a bunch of 21+ return missionaries, I was in the mood to date someone a little closer to my age.  Enter first kiss guy, who we will call Ronald.  Ronald lived in the apartment next door to Tyler's.  At the time, my apartment hung out with Tyler's apartment all the time and Ronald and his roommates would often stop in as well.  Mind you, Tyler was usually off doing his own thing.  To me, it was actually Jim's apartment, since Jim was the first guy I dated up at school.  But since you know Tyler and not Jim, we will call it Tyler's apartment.  By the way, his name wasn't really Jim.  But I figure it's polite to change names.

Brief side note: why was Tyler never around?  Because he was busy dating half of the female population on campus.  I am so not kidding.  I swear he had a different date every time I was at their apartment.

So Ronald.  Ronald was 18, a "pre-missionary."  Looking back, I don't find him attractive at all but I must have found him cute or interesting or something.  After much flirting, he finally asked me on a date.  We went to a movie and maybe did something else, but I don't remember.  What I do remember is we took my car, because he didn't have one.  When I was dropping him off at the end of the night (yup, that's a winner), we talked for a bit.  He hadn't made any moves all night, but then after he hugged me good-bye, he kindof hesitated, and I just knew he was going in for a kiss.  I was fine with that- I'd never been kissed!  This was exciting!  He kissed me.

Lets just take a second to go over what I was thinking during this kiss:  Oh my gosh what do I do with my lips!?!!!!!!!!
Literally.  That is what I was thinking the whole time.

I had never been kissed before, and I think he wanted to make out, but I did not know what I was doing, so I just stood there and after a second he stopped and went inside.  Suuuper awkward. At the time I was just excited because I had been kissed.  It makes me a little sad, because I should've been disappointed that I wasted my first kiss on a guy who I didn't really like that much.

Over the next few days he stopped answering my texts and ignoring me.  Maybe it was because I was a bad kisser, but I'm pretty sure it's because he is a jerk.  After a few weeks, I found out that he was just trying to 'fill the bucket' before he went on his mission, meaning he was trying to kiss as many girls as possible before he left.  I gave my first kiss to that.  What a letdown.

To this day, Tyler still teases my that Ronald, of all people, was my first kiss.  It doesn't help that Tyler knew Ronald, and therefore knows exactly how lame Ronald was.

What was your first kiss like?  Do you have a worst kiss story?

Hilarious! Kissing is weird.

My first kiss was a few days after my 15th birthday. Brian Costanzo. Super smoking hot (even still!). I drove to his house straight from getting my license and we "made out" but like you, I had no idea what I was doing and I did NOT like it. He broke up with me a few days later (we were "together" for less than a week). I didn't kiss anybody again until I was 19, but that didn't really count because he was my boyfriend for 6 months and only pecked me twice. Then when I was 20 and had a different boyfriend...that's when I learned that kissing wasn't so weird. :)

ha! hilarious! and yes, much agreed Emily: Brian Costanzo STILL hot!

LOVE the name Ronald! ;)

anyways. my first kiss was when i was in 8th grade. I was "dating" Cory Latham, or he was my boyfried, anyways. We went to this holiday party where they decided to play spin the bottle. the kids playing (including 7th graders) were trying to decide if tongue would be included in this game or not. Cory was screaming (or so i recall) that yes, the kisses should include tongue. i would beyond frustrated because at that point we had only ever pecked, and had NEVER french kissed. so i was thinking why he is all excited about these people french kissing, when we've never even done it! ...and of course we weren't allowed to play since we were there as a couple.
anyways, after the party my mom picked me, cory, and my best friend Michelle (she's my longest friend, and was in my wedding). Cory lived in an apartment on the 3rd floor. I kinda knew that THE kiss was coming. so Cory, Michelle (I brought her up with me for moral support) and I walked up to Cory's apartment door, where he went in for the kiss. And before I know it he pulls back and says "ouch you bit my lip!" needless to say that was the first and last french kiss i shared with Cory.

I think I was 15 or 16. It was after mutual and Ken Foley asked me to walk around the Eubank Building and talk with him. We got to the north side of the building and he kissed me. That was it. Nothing exciting. He said later that he did it because I broke up with Russ Hallett. Which made no sense because Russ called me twice and we may have held hands once. So there wasn't much of a breakup to be had but I guess I hurt Russ's feeling.

Well it's nice to know that everyone has awkward kissing stories. All my roommates were telling me how romantic and wonderful their first kisses were...how is that even possible? Kissing is so weird.
