Larson Reunion 2015

We had an epic family reunion with my mom's family.  She is the oldest child, and I am the oldest grandchild.  I am the only one of my cousins married with my own family.  The amazing lodge we stayed in had seven rooms - one for my grandparents, and one for each of their six kids, plus two bunk rooms for grandkids.  Tyler and I shared a room with my parents.  Bless their hearts.  They slept on the bed, TJ was on an air mattress, Eli was in a pac-n-play, and  Tyler and I had another air mattress.

It was fun and crazy and exhausting.

The boys did great, and TJ had a so much fun time playing with all the cousins!  He wore himself  completely ragged, and you could definitely tell by the last day that he was way overstimulated.  He was so happy to be home.

Here are some of the things we did, in photo-dump form.

Packed alot of crap.
Diaper changes in the car.
Worked on bikes with dad, grandpa, and uncle Logan.

 Stayed in this sweet lodge.
 TJ's first motorcycle ride.

 Lovely scenery.
 Played pool.
Played with cousins.  (I super love this photo.  My cousins were so nice to TJ the whole trip!)
 Ellen made sarcastic faces.
 My gorgeous sister.

 The Amazing Race!

One of the roadblocks was lassoing a suitcase.  Logan did it in literally one try - apparently living in Montana for the last two years taught him some sweet roping skills!

TJ could not leave his shoes on.
 Launched water balloons.
Sneaking water balloons from the cooler.

I did this pretty much the whole time.
Got some pictures with grandma!  These are a rare site.

Logan took some selfies.
 Haley played with our camera.
 TJ played with grandpa.

Seriously, Idaho.
Mesa falls
Awesome reunion t-shirt, modeled by Eli.
We stopped by one of our favorite little places, the Frostop, on our way home.  That giant root beer mug spins.
Let's do it again, when my kids are a leeeetle older, okay people?

LOVE this! The only family reunion I've ever been to was the summer of 1980, I was 6 months old. I've always wanted my mom's side of the family to have one but it has never happened!
the lodge looks amazing!
How long was the drive? How did TJ do?? I'm thinking of driving to ABQ in October by myself with Helena. But don't know how should do.

The drive ended up being 5.5 hours, but we did have a 45 minute stop. Everyone did really good, except the last hour. Both boys cried the.entire.hour. Four hours seems to be TJ's limit in the car, so we try to break trip up in to four hour blocks if we can. When he was like four months I took him on a four-hour trip to Utah by myself. It wasn't great but it wasn't the worst road trip for sure. We bought a portable DVD player and that is a huge help, now that he will sit and watch movies a little better.

Also, Tyler is a big fan of driving at night after bedtime. I hate doing that and it didn't seem to help on the drive home (TJ slept the first three hours and cried the last hour again).

Those pictures of you and Grandma are THE BEST. Seriously I'm jealous! So good! And the one of Eli sideways in the cooler trying to get the water balloon? HI-larious! Love it! You were such a trooper on this trip, I mostly felt so bad for you, but I'm so glad you were there!
