pinterest cooking

My roomates last fall were the ones who got me into pinterest, and together we tried a few different pinterest recipes, like vanilla-bean crepes and fried mozerella sticks. Yum!

The only pins I ever actually try are the recipes.
After I cook it, I delete the pin.  If it's good, I copy the recipe!

A few days ago, I made Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets from Six Sisters Stuff.

Definitely didn't make nuggets as good as the real thing,
but they were pretty delicious.

Tonight I tried these yummy dark chocolate cookies from epicurious. The batter was delicious!
The results? Less so.
400* was definitely too hot, and the first batch came out scorched.
(This is them in our trashcan.  Yes, that bad.)
The next batch looked weird.
The dough was SO good though.  Good enough I'll try them again.

Thats that.
Here's what's going on in the Smith house:
On the 4th of July, Tyler and I went riding with Jared and Katelyn again.  It was great to be out and about!  Then we went to bed early.
My latest obsession is friends.  They do reruns on nick every night, and it makes me wish I was born in the '90's.
I got a TA job working for a teacher in the Computer Science department.  I'm super thrilled about it- great on a resume!  I didn't even have to apply.  I got the job because...wait for it....
I'm a girl.
(This isn't creepy, I promise.  The teachers are super supportive of the few women in the program)
 I love my major.
A week from Wednesday is the last day of classes, then finals.  2 weeks left!
Then summer can actually start.
Tyler has work next week, plus training for his second job, which means he'll be working early mornings before school, and late afternoons after school
Bummer.  At least it's only a week.

Also,
I'm craving fried chicken.

I guess I'll go try some of those cookies now.
At least they're chocolate.  You can only mess up so much with chocolate!
Do you ever try any of your pins?

I've actually tried a lot of my pins--also, mostly recipes, although I have done a few of the crafty ones. Sorry your cookies didn't turn out! :( At least the dough was yummy though.

I've tried a few of the pins, they're usually REALLY good, but I've had a few that were seriously disgusting.

You WERE born in the '90s, dork. Do you mean you wish you had been old enough to watch Friends when it aired the first time? 'Cause you're right, you really missed out. It was the best show! I re-created several of Rachel's outfits when I was in college but I never was as cute as her. Wonder why? Have you seen the episode with Brad Pitt yet?

WOW. I didn't even catch that. Yea, I was born in the 90's. I meant to say "...makes me wish I was born BEFORE the '90's."

I just saw the ones with George Clooney and Alex Baldwin. Hilarious.

The outfits are another reason I wish it was the '90's, because I find most of them adorable, but terribly out-of-date.

ok good...i had really question myself and be like "wasn't she born in the 90's" because my first thought when i read that "holy cow i'm getting old!"

when i first joined pinterest i only used it for all things wedding related. i just recently started using it for food. my friend sarah made these really good zucchini fries and i made them for my mom when she was here...super delish.
