My dear brothers were both in Utah this weekend, and Grandma and Grandpa were long overdue for a visit, so, like a couple of crazy people, we spent this weekend out of town as well.
After we finally got everyone up and dressed, we headed over to This is the Place Heritage Park.
We made sure to stop and admire the Mormon Battalion Monument, created by my aunt Holly's dad.
Once we got in, the boys had a little practice doing laundry.
Parents raised 13 children in this teeny house. Pioneers were hard core.
Austin and Hunter learn to card wool. Apparently, that's the job they gave to the 5-year-olds.
At arts and crafts, Hunter, Logan, Luke, and Austin made arrowhead necklaces.
Alex made a rag doll.
And Tyler did leather printing.
Austin found himself a resting place at the carpenters shop...
And then we all panned for gold, then took our loot down to the bank to cash in for candy!
That's everything I got pictures of. But we also got lots of yummy, home-made grandma food. Tyler and I are a little sad we forgot to bring home the pumpkin cookies though.
And when I say "a little," I mean,
a lot.
It was a super-duper trip, but it's always terrible trying to come home. I definitely don't feel like I had enough time! Good thing they live close.

can't tell you how much I love this post and laughed out loud at your captions!
He was super cute! Glad he could come along. He was our buddy- he even went on a walk with me and Tyler on Sunday.
That is so fun. You're such an adult, you and your husband taking the "kids" out for a day of adventure. Heh.
